The guide has 374 pages, and I have spent hours finding it. Please see page 14 (1-13), you will see the "TWO-SIDED key" Press it to select or deselect two-sided mode.
You can download the Service Manual from here: Type password XXXXX The User Manual is inside the "Operations" Section. It is not easy as this printer is from 1993 and Canon has discontinued it.
